Friday Housekeeping

I'm siting here with my Denny's All-American Slam® breakfast. I'm not sure what is going on with my metabolism lately but I seem to be a bottomless pit. Last night for dinner we had steak, baked potatoes, salad and corn on the cobb. We were all stuffed. 15 minutes later I was back in the kitchen for two cookies. Followed 1/2 half an hour later by a rice krispee treat. An hour after that another rice krispee treat, follow with a bowl of ice cream. Then I woke up hungry a half hour before I have to get up. Hence Denny's.

I've been meme'd three times in the last week or so and since I don't want my meme taggers to think I don't love them, here we go. I may be cheating a bit doing them all in one post but it's blogging right? I can make up my own rules.

The first one came from Hope4Grace (I just looked up and saw that I'd left the 'P' out of Hope, considered leaving it that way, then thought better of it) This funny chica keeps me laughing. Go give her a read and a ration of crap for her shoe buying, pearl wearing, tomboy ways. She also posts pics of her hot husband "The Man" so there's always that to entertain yourself with on her site.

Hope's meme was a short one if I remember right.

OK, wrong. I just went back and looked. The meme is 6 things you never wanted to know about me. (Hope4Grace, I'll be scoping out gruesome meme's to tag you with next)

1) I've never broken a bone, except my toes. (I used to go dancing with a 6' 2" clod in cowboy boots)

2) My second toes are longer than my 'big' toes. It's a family trait

3) In high school I twice dressed up for 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' Once in the gold lame shorts and wrapped head to toe as a mummy and once as 'Rocky' in the 'Floorshow'. Full on corset, fish-nets...the works, on stage in front of the playing movie with the rest of the freaks. I blame undo influence by the BF of the time who dressed as Frank-n-Furter

4) In high school I drove a 1969 4-door Cutlass Oldsmobile. Yeah, I was cool.

5) I spent 6 years working on my vocal range. At my best I could sing parts from second tenor to bass. Now I can only sing baritone.

6) When my first lover died, amongst other things he left me were two 6' Boa Constrictors, Bruce & Linda. They wouldn't eat after the BF died and after sixth months Bruce expired in the glass case we had built into a closet.

I don't 'do' dead things.

Ever.

It was a week before I could finally get someone to come remove it. It had been over 100* that week. After removing the poor thing, the friend that helped me put it in the common dumpster in the enclosed buildings garage. The trash wasn't collected for another week. To say it smelled would be an under statement.

We had to force feed Linda. I'll spare you the details, suffice to say it wasn't pretty.

So there ya go six things you may or may not have ever wanted to know about me.

Next up we have an award/meme from Zirelda.

Ain't she sweet?

The rules are:
1. The winner can put the logo on their blog
2. Link the person you received your award from
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs you’ve nominated.

I've never been good with rules. But I will give some shout outs.

1) Ace at Helpdesk Ace- dude, your totally upping my male to female blog buddy ratio. Plus your funny

2) Mo at Mo On The Go- always has an upbeat attitude and a great outlook on life - Love ya Sister!

3) Miss Purdue - who's about to make me a blogger uncle any day now.

4) Kelly at The Moohaa - My moral compass, frequently I ask myself, 'What would Moohaa do...'

5) Tina at Big Cute Beach Girl - Who is missing in action. so this is just a desperate ploy to get her to de-cloak.

6) Jay at Cynical Bastard - because he keeps me in touch with the 10% of me that is straight

And last but not least...

7) My girl at Carolina On My Mind - This is between you and me, and if you tell anyone your a liar and your feet don't match, but we're secretly having an affair.

The next tag came from O.C. at Bears Mountain, since technically she's been blogging a lot longer than me I can't claim that she named her mountain after my Bear but it does mean I have a soft spot in my heart for her. Also I'm on a campaign to get her to move to Seattle.

Look at the preeettyy picture O.C., Mmmmmmm....Seattle....(click to make bigger)

Those were entertaining. I love the way your mind works!! You always put a smile on my face and remind me to not take life too seriously.

I HATE meme's so won't participate, suffice it to say they were answered in my own tiny little mind as I read yours :-)

Who is this sassy man? I LOVE HIM!
But I love the unsassy you too.

This one:
"In high school I twice dressed up for 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' Once in the gold lame shorts and wrapped head to toe as a mummy and once as 'Rocky' in the 'Floorshow"
Makes you so totally cool in my eyes. I always wanted to be one of those people standing up in front, but I never had the nerve! I am in awe - you are my coolness guru now.

PS - I rode the SLUT down to Westlake and had the biggest philly cheesesteak sammich, with a side of cheese fries. I think I might bust. But it was SO GOOD!

Love & stuff -
fiwa

OKay studly, I'm forever changing my name to Hoe4grace, lol. You crack my up. The Man thought that was a riot.

But I'm utterly convinced that we were indeed separated at birth.

Why?

1. My second toe is longer than my first. I'm bossy, this is what it means? Right?

2. In high school I drove a 4 door burgendy (can't spell obviously) Chevy Caprice with velour seats, I was cool too.

3. Only broke bone has been a toe.

4. I don't do dead things.

Does this mean I have to do the Rocky Horror picture show dress up at Halloween now? Cause boy won't that give the PTA something to talk about?

Scarlet said...

Bruce and Linda and you not doing dead things...funny.

I can't believe I never made it to a Rocky Horror show. I would've loved the whole audience participation thing. Do you have any stories about that??

Loved your memes! I may have to do one for myself soon!

Joni Dixon-Stanger said...

Because I'm new I'm going to ask what may seem to be a dumb question to the rest of you more experienced....what is a meme?

Whatever it is you are a funny guy. I love to read your blog.

fiwa said...

Philly Cheese Steak - sadly, I do not know the name. But it's in Westlake mall in the food court, and it's along the back wall. If you were facing World Wrap it would be to your left and it's like a grilled sammich place.

LOVED this!

So much fun to read about some of the similarities...I grew up in Phoenix (I wasn't always a corn-fed Iowa girl) and all my friends used to dress up for Rocky Horror, too. In fact, I met my kids dad in full corset...LOL.

Mark eats like you are eating every single day of his life. He calls it "preventative eating", so he doesn't get hungry. He never gains weight. At times, it irritates the crap out of me.

Have a beautiful Sunday.

Hugs.

I did enjoy your post and learning a bit more about you. :-)

Me? You selected me? I am so honored. Thanks sweets!

I too have been eating more than the usual lately. I'm grazing like nobody's business.

Maybe we are getting ready for fall and winter like the bears do?

Mo said...

See, if I read the comments before I posted I would have known Zirelda and I think a lot alike. LOL

Bear mode. That's our story and I'm sticking to it!
