Take Your Bloggers to Work Day

It was 'lift' day on one of the jobs Jay's been working on. I went down to take lunch to the crew and took some pics. Not the most thrilling subject matter, but this is what we do, well part of it.

Here's a whole lot of money sitting on a truck. 22 units to lift today. The first one went up at 11:30 am. Somebody's going to be late for dinner tonight.

Here's our hero (in blue) doing what he does best. Ordering people around.
This was the second job of the day for the crane crew. They started the first at 3:00am. Fingers crossed they don't peter out on us.

This is the jobsite. This is one of our best customers. They buy old warehouse space buildings in the industrial area near downtown and convert them to office/retail space. They do great work leaving the cool old beams and building quirks in place and make them part of the design.

Here's our business partner Big 'A' attending to the very important strap management. The other two are Jay's M&M team (Mir & Mfon) The A&A (Andy & Adam) team must be on the roof or across the street flirting with the girls in the art supply store. I didn't see them.

Geez guys, four vans on the jobsite? Ever heard of carpooling?

And the first one is off

Are you on the edge of your seat? Exciting huh?

Hopefully Jay or somebody has a hold of that rope.

I noticed this on the way back to the jeep. Somethings I'd rather not know about, thank you.

After all this excitment I got to go to my FAVORITE place. Yup, the permit office. But I did get to read three chapters of my book while sitting there!

He and I have something in common then. LOL

At a former employer one time I watched as they sat down the new air units on our roof using helicopters. That was pretty cool.

It's always interesting to see what occupies other people's time.

Ok..so I'm a wee bit confused. Are they A/C units for the rooftops? That means there will be 22 seperate 'units'?
It is neat to see all this action. Men in hardhats are sexy! lol

What a great post! It is good to see what others spend their days doing, and I didn't think it was boring at all. If you want to see boring, maybe I should take some pics of ME selling insurance. Now THAT is boring....LOL

Happy Wednesday, Brad.

Hugs. :)

Wow...this is impressive and a bit scary. I was thinking the same way Soul was thinking...that you guys just did homes. Wow...no wonder you can't wait to get to the peace and quiet of your little homestead. Good business to be in though....we all need heat and now we're so spoiled...we need AC too. LOL

Catchy blog title!

It was very special to see part of your day and yes sir, it was exciting!

If you saw some of my days you might be like, WTF?

Hi lovinstuff :)
Mom's getting dressed so I'm taking the opportunity to sneak some blog visiting.

Hey, I would come watch the cranes with you - that's really cool. Though I agree, the unmanned trains is pretty creepy, if you think about it!

What a rockin' party you had - I bet that was so much fun. Your mom is beautiful and she looks so young. Now I see where you get it from.

Miss ya!

Ah ha! Now I can see the pics. Yep, I was also thinking smaller scale:)

Very cool! I love construction:)

My husband deals with huge chillers for data centers. You'd probably like his boring work pictures. LOL
They're at least as big as a train car.

Thanks for the glimpse into your world.

It's fascinating to get a glimpse into someone else's life, and it took me a little while to get the gist of what was going on, but I am there now! It's a good job that you don't do AC units over here as summer seems to have gone on strike this year!
