Friendship

It was a good day today. The weather was fair but not overly warm. The phones at work were relatively quite. I did speak to one woman this afternoon who was looking for a product we don't carry. I asked her if she had web access and she laughed and said she was 'much to old to learn such foolishness'. She didn't sound more then ten years older then I. Anyway, it was a quiet afternoon and I had the time so I told her I'd do a bit of digging around on the web and call her back with some info. Took me about two minutes to find it and i called her back. We got to talking and I found out she has lived in the neighborhood I grew up in since 1967. My folks bought into that neighborhood in 1969. Turns out we lived about 7 blocks away and she remembers my mother who was a teller at the local (at the time) Seattle First National Bank, now Bank Of America. (grumble....) I'll have to tell my Mom but I doubt she'll remember, it's a very common name.

So that was the high point of my day. Which is just fine with me. A very mellow day and a very mellow evening.

I was trying to get some pics for Happyone of the Monarch Butterflys mating here in the tress but so far thier to fast for me.

I do love it here.

Lolli's gone home tonight, but no worries there, she'll be back to spoil us soon. She really does spoil us when she's here. She cleans our house and makes dinner and just generally makes life very pleasant. She knows she's not expected to but does it because she wants to. We do love her so. Bear especially, as he's not alone all day.

My bud Jack sent me this today. (See hot Hispanic guy sitting next to my Mom & Jane in last weekend's party pics) It reminds me so much of Big Cute Beach Girl, I swear she must have wrote it. If you've not checked out her site give it a go. She's a very, very funny writer and very lovable.

'True' Friendship...
Enough of that Sissy Crap!

Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems
that always sound good,
but never actually come close to reality?

Well, here is a series of promises
that actually speak of true friendship.

You will see no cutesy
little smiley faces on this card -

Just the stone cold truth...

1. When you are sad -- I will
help you get drunk and plot revenge
against the sorry bastard who made you sad.

2. When you are blue -- I will
try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile -- I will
know you are plotting something
that I must be involved in.

4. When you are scared -- I will
rag on you about it every chance I get.

5. When you are worried -- I will
tell you horrible stories about
how much worse it could be,
until you quit whining.

6. When you are confused -- I will
use little words.

7. When you are sick -- I will
tell you to stay the hell away from me until you are well
again. I don't want whatever you have.

8. When you fall --
I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass.

This is my oath....
I pledge it to the end.
'Why?' you may ask.
'Because you're my friend!'

Friendship is like
Peeing your pants:
Everyone can see it,
But only you can
Feel the true warmth.

Send this to 10
Of your closest friends,
Then get depressed
Because you can only think of 4.

Hope you all are feeling this mellow too.

Mellow is good. It was a great day today was it not?

Love, love the friendship poem as it is so true but I'd have to say in my crew, if one of us in jail, chances are at least one psn would be in the cell with them and the others would be getting the bail money together.

Today is sort of a mellow day for me too. Mellow is good. Yawn...now I'm feeling sleepy. Its a lazy, hazy, steamy summer day here and all is good. (thank God for AC) xxoo

Mellow is a good way to spend a day, and I'm glad that you have had the butterflies to watch even if they have been too quick to get on film!

I enjoyed the poem too.

Off the subject - I am greatly intrigued by the live traffic feed on here - I don't know how it works out where people are but it hasn't been right about me once yet. Its guess today was Luton. For US readers who may not know, Luton is a dump with an airport. I live in lovely scenic North Yorkshire.
