Family

Finally, (my some what wine soaked) mother calls me. After no word from her in five days, she's being a bit flip with me and a bit silly. I'll cut her slack with all she's had to cope with. Also, it's 99* in Salem 12* warmer then here today.

She says she's spent most the week with Grandma. Getting her re-oriented with her old apartment after staying in the more intensive care area of the home for three months. Uncle Bob has dealt with all the rest of the arrangements.

Grandma is grieving which of course is natural, but otherwise doing good. Mom says she's finding ways to help keep her somewhat 'up' by talking about the past.

The service will be May 27th.

May 27th (for effect)

16 days after the man died.

***shakes-head-side-to-side-smiles-and-sighs***

Now I finally know what's going on. And Mom confirms. It's not bureaucratic red tape or anything like that. It because we're trying to accommodate every ones schedules.

Kelly Jean, Don't read this.

(*&^$%$#@!@!#$%^%&(*(%$$*)_&**%@##!@)_+)

Ok I'm better. I'd tell you my family is weird but all family's are I think.

This experience should make for great blogging material.

Grandpa would agree.

This made me laugh...ESPECIALLY, yes sadly enough, the Obscenity Line...

Ah---family. Gotta love 'em. Really, you gotta. Not much choice there.

Be well, Brad.

All families really are weird. I always wonder how some things are justified. Shaking your head and fake swearing are nice, gentle ways to deal with craziness. At least on 'paper.'

Saturday! It feels like it's been one big run-on week for me. I'm still pooped. Eight hours till coffee and I can't wait. Enjoy your day.

Wouldn't you just love to hear Grandpa's take on all this? Based on his comment to your "coming out" it would be interesting. My heart goes out to Grandma - it's hard to loose a mate after many years together.

My family has it's wierdos, too. I think I'm number one on the list.

Family, in my humble opinion, can be the biggest PITA, hopefully your grandpa is sitting up there laughing at it.

Hi Brad,
I just had to come over and repay the visit you paid me a week or two ago. I am always seeing you rush in to help all your lady blogger friends and I just wanted to say I think you are a real sweetheart.

Your grandpa sounded like a great old guy (especially that comment about you coming out) and I am sorry to hear that he recently passed away.

My husband's grandma passed away right before Xmas at the same age so i didn't feel sad for her. She was well and truly ready to go.

Enjoy the rest of your wonderful weather and take care :)

Yeah, just about every family is weird. Except the Bush family. They're just evil. hahaha ;-)

Thank you for the welcome home, sugar. :) I saw that this morning and it cracked me up!

I must say, I have never heard of delaying a funeral that long. I can understand wanting to wait until everyone can make the trip, but it seems like it's a long time to stretch it out, when what you'd probably like is a little closure. A little time with your family. I'm sorry love. You know if there is anything I can do, you just have to say the word. Want to borrow my crappy camera when you go? It's yours.

Missed ya - so glad to be home. And check your email.

love you -
fiwa

hey bud----

sorry you have to deal with all of this extra "stuff:.. on top of your own grief. i know it isn't easy.
you know -- you have a lot of friends here--and we really do care how you feel and what you are going through-- no need for censorship here-- though i know some do appreciate it..and it was good for a chuckle.,

anyhow-- vent when ya need to--and it is ok to laugh-- even at the not very funnny stuff-- sometimes it's what pulls us through.

anyways--
big hug to ya--
hope you find something to make you feel good today--or at least better.

perhaps grandpa is working through you and standing by your shoulder-at the risk of NOT freaking you out. :)

Happy dusting! :)

You're so sweet I could pinch your cheeks.

But I'm sorry... I read it. :)

And yes, families are weird.

Example #1 of millions...
My brother is looking into our family history and asked my dad what his mother's maiden name is. Dad and mom promptly accused him of identity theft and haven't spoken to him since. Other then telling him to not to do this, he has too much to live for.

Makes you more grateful for your family eh?

Hi Brad, Crusty came by and said you would like an invitation to my blog. That would be great but I will need your email address for you to get access. Would you mind emailing it to me on dancingwithdestiny@gmail.com.

Cheers. Hope to hear from you soon :)

Oh Brad, I'm sorry I haven't been around enough to know what's been going on with you, and I am so sorry for the loss of your grandfather. Yes, I agree, 97 is a good, long life.

And yes, you will have great blogging material, and YES...my family is as weird as they come.

Have a good week. Big hugs. :)
