Lolli and i were out on errands this morning and I saw a Boxer running loose near 51st & Monster Road. Lolli told me not to stop (I was already pulled over) I know she's right as she was the one who had to deal with my last rescued pup (The Jack Russel) My heart wouldn't let me leave it at that so I dropped her off and went back to find him.
I wasn't going to bring him home as both Lolli & Jay have said enough is enough. But I had to go back and at least take him to the Humane Society. I couldn't just leave him in the street where he was.
He's a smart little guy - I tried to get him to come to me for 20 minutes - no deal - he was having none of it. I tried to corner him - no dice he saw me coming every which way.
Why do people do this? He was clearly a pet dog. Why and how could someone just dump a pet like that. It's making me cry right now. Good lord people man up and take them to the pound if you have too. It breaks my heart.

Aw Brad. God bless you for being a rescuer. So many people probably just passed him on the street not caring. You are a gift, really.
I wish I could hug you... you're a good man.
(sniff)
(wipes tear)
That makes me sad, too. Good for you, bless you for trying.
I agree...it's just not fair.
Be well.
Hear! Hear! I hear you Brad. People do the damndest things. I hope the boxer finds a home soon. At least you tried. Most people wouldn't care. Take care friend!
Maybe he/she got loose by accident, it does happen. And I am hoping that the boxers owners were frantically searching this afternoon, and have now found their pup.
I love you for your tender heart.
Hang in there sweetpea.
lovins,
fiwa
Living in an apartment complex I see animals that have been dumped often. Especially cats. People move out and they just leave the cat. I can't stand those people!
You have a heart of gold and love you for it.
I'm going to assume positive intent and believe the puppy got loose and couldn't find his/her way back home.
This way I won't go to bed disliking people.
(HUGS)
I have this really bad habit of jumping straight to what I want to comment on without reading others comments and then after posting mine, I go and read what everyone else has to say.
I could have saved myself a lot of typing if I had just read Fiwa's first.
*hangs head in shame*
I'm sorry Bradley. You did your best.
Aw. What a kind heart you have:o)) I'd have done the same. I hate cruelty and neglect..so unnecessary.
awwwwwwwwwww!!
I don't know about people and pets..perhaps he just escaped and wanted to find his way home on his own?
I hope!!!
Poor puppy..
wonder why you keep running into the lost doggies on the road,..wonder if someone is saying, "SCREW THE HVAC business, open up a PUPPY SANDALS WELCOME PALACE!!" :L)
happy monday!
Always,
Elizabeth
I think Crusty is on to something! :)
I don't know why people do that. It makes me sad and mad. It makes you wonder why some people get pets in the first place.
Do you think you could take some more pictures of Bear. I'd like to show Oakleigh.
This breaks my heart, too. I cannot stand the thought of a lost or abandoned animal or child. And in my heart, they are the same thing. I try to help, but there are so many. If I let myself get too involved, I end up with more and more animals (thank God I have never run into a child, ugh--LOL), But I'm right there with you. And I have to agree with Kelley, you ARE a good man. Hugs.
People suck.........just love your kind heart though!
Bless your heart for trying to get him into your car. Be careful with that...frightened animals can be dangerous. I hope the little guy is okay...
I cry everytime I see a stray that's been hit on the side of the road. Why can't people do the responsible thing?
