It's a funny thing to do when you think about it. Sit alone in a room and write and post. Read others blogs and comment to them, read your own comments and respond. It's really a different way to communicate. It almost slows us down, allowing for time to contemplate before responding. Maybe thinking our response through a bit more than we do in real life situations? Blogging has been around, what ten years? are we in the nascent, early years ? Are we all evolving in communication? (and to those of you who maybe wondering now, no I have not been smoking pot tonight)
It's interesting for me to read of other bloggers that have had a blog, stopped and then started again at a later date with a different blog (this is my second blog) and kind of take the lessoned learned from the old blog and craft the new one a bit differently. (is spell check EVER coming back ?)
My second blog experience has been much better than the first, not that the first was bad. Maybe it's who we try/succeed in befriending ? Maybe it's kinda like dating, you learn from your mistakes.
With some of my most beloved bloggers I can't even remember how I found you. sometimes when I'm bored I'll click 'Next Blog' just to see what's out there. I've found some pretty damn good internets friends doing that.
Some, I know as the direct link of who allowed me to find whom. (Grit: grammar check please) and I'm very grateful to them. Sometimes you'll direct yourself to a friend of a friends blog and can appreciate what is posted but just can't simply come up with anything to add or anyway to comment. No judgements – just no connection. Sometimes it’s love at first written word read, some times not.
Funny huh ?
I look to my blogroll and I find a life long pattern emerging. I've always been most comfortable with women. I'm a gay man and don't have a problem with straight men,(some gay men can tend to annoy me) but I always gravitate to women. I'm a normal guy. Not butch, not flamboyant, but if you have a half decent 'Gaydar' you would know pretty quickly after meeting me that I'm gay. That could come from living and working in a very liberal area of the country. I haven’t felt the need to hide who I am for a very long time and my experience has been that no one really cares. I wish it was the same for all gay people.
Anyway,
Blogging, I think we are at the forefront of a new way to communicate. I find myself watching the mainstream media with less trust (controlled by corporations that buy access to our elected leaders---couldn’t help myself) and reading news blogs for more of my information has really opened my eyes. It’s amazing what you learn.
I have my little cadre of bloggers from Luton to New South Wales and all points in between.
Thanks for taking me in and being so open and friendly.

Artistic licsense....that what it's all about...c'mon! Hokey pokey!!!
Morning Brad. You can stalk my archives, comment and ask as many questions as you like. I'm so flattered! I'm so glad we found each other.
I know exactly what you mean, it's like having this community of friends, and you can't remember exactly who you "met" first and how you got from this person to that person, but you bump into the same people all over the place. It's like a virus - but a good one!
I just wanted to take a little break and say hi & miss ya!
PS - I don't want to say I know what you mean, cuz I'm not gay, but it does seem like it's so much more an accepted part of life up here. I go home to texas, or I talk to my gay boyfriend in Denver, and it hits home that it's NOT that way everywhere. One more reason to love Seattle. :)
Right back at ya! I am glad we found one another too and maybe, just maybe, we will meet in person.
I can see it now. You, fiwa, Spanky and me...
I love stopping by my favorite blogs and seeing my favorite people commenting there. Hi summer, fiwa and mo. Sorry I don't know you lori hart, but I recognize the bendy thing in your picture. Brad, you've been so familiar and funny from the start. I'm glad we found each other too.
you're so sweet!
I'm glad to have found you compliments of Cheryl..you're genunine and I wish that everyone thought the same way you did!
Looks like you found FIWA too!! :)

Elizabeth
