I'm normally able to get the guys out and on the road by 8:30 to 9:00. Today was the exception. If you haven't read back far enough before, let me explain. Our business is owned by Partner and I, and our business partners, a married couple who we do indeed love. Partner's work partner 'A' had his hardrive die a few weeks ago and I dealt with the whole de-install, ship it back & reinstall, but just haven't had time to deal with going through the whole reload of his back up. I finally gave up and called our tech guy to come in to deal with it. Good thing I did, it was ugly.
I picked the wrong f'ing day.
Usually I'm alone in my office for 90% of the time. It is heaven. With the exception of the phone calls from customers and the guys reporting in. Normally, I have peace.
Today, Computer Guy was in to fix A's pc at 8:30. Unfortunately both Partner and A decide to hang out at the office for most of the day. So Computer Guy is working on A's machine leaving A useless and wandering about the office, prone to offer ideas on how to improve things. Lovely.
I wanted to take him out back and bludgeon him at 9:30 am.
Partner was no help. He's got his own needs and doesn't seem to recognize that you are actually working even though your sitting at a pc and not hanging duct work.
They don't seem to notice that there are multiple lines ringing on the phone and I can only really juggle two at a time.
HELLO !
I shield them from work all the time because we really have more that we can do as a company. That ends tomorrow. They'll both be out giving estimates with much more frequency next week and well into the future.
Don't mess with me - I'm the office manager, and I can make your life hell.
And by the way, get out of my office.
UPDATE: Partner has two new jobs to bid next week, and A has one, so far. There's always Friday. Now if I could just start assigning shit to the Book Keeper I'd be a happy man.

I think you showed great restraint. I would have left the phones and the office to them and went home for a nap.......
LOLOL! OMG, I HAD to laugh at this one...sorry, but I SO know how you feel..
And yes, it certainly IS happy hour somewhere...
:)
You remind me of how I was, back when I had a real job!
Nothing makes an office worse then people interfering, not to mention the noise level must have made you cringe.
I hope things are better tomorrow for you!
Damn it, ask for your heart lollipop back, or make HIM scratch the Shreky!
Glad you liked it, by the way!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth
or, you could just refer to them as MUTHFLY, I don't know, it's what your word verification had to say..sounds catchy, doesn't it?
LOL, the word verification for me is TAHUC....so 'to huck' with it all..pour me a drinkie and direct me to the nearest comfy seat. Incidentally, I was a dispatcher for many years and the cops knew better than to upset me..heh heh heh....oh what FUN! I can SO UNDERSTAND how you felt today.. its over now so stay mellow....
lol... tell them to get outcha space! I just love it when other people come in to "help". :)
