Is Employeecide a word ?

Because if it is I think I may commit it.

I've got a Service Tech. that is pushing me to my limit. We've been working with him for over a year to get things turned around but it just isn't working. He's sat through all the corrective meetings and says what he knows we want to hear but it's bullshit. This is the type of guy who does the bare minimum on every job then walks around like he's all that and a bag of chips.

His alarm clocks only seems to work on payday.

He shaves every third day.

His call back rate is appalling, he seems to think we can charge people hundreds of dollars to NOT fix they're problems.

He's a complete bullshitter.

Just to name a few.

I just can't be negative to him ALL of the time. I've got to see that the work gets done.

The problem is that while I have the budget to hire someone else I can't find anyone in our industry to bring on board to eventually replace him. If I could his ass would be long gone. It's not like I haven't been trying. I've hired agency to place people. Spent countless hours on Monster and the other sites looking. Even went so far as to check out Craigslist. I'm that desperate.

We're even willing to pay top dollar, we just cannot find qualified people that interview like they have an ounce of work ethic.

I've got to do something before my tap dancing with our customers starts to wear thin and they start walking.

Sorry friends, I can't get any humor in this post. Reflective of my mood.

If anyone has ANY advice it would be greatly appreciated !

FEH! - I'm going to go read my "English Grammar for Dummies" to see if i can get a handle on my run-on sentences.

XOXOBC

UPDATE: Thursday morning, guess who called in sick ?

Good people are hard to find. When I was looking for a job 20 years ago, I did the interviewing. I knew I'd be a perfect employee. OK, if I do say so myself. And I'm not really perfect, but it sounded good.

Hey you - I have missed you! Sorry you're having trouble finding a good employee. Too bad you're not hiring for a computer guru, I know a boy who's having the same problem with his boss that you're having with your employee. ;)

I think the key is ya just gotta keep looking. Ask friends if they know of anyone looking for a job. Heck - post the job requirements here if you can, you never know when you might run across the perfect person.

I can bug some of my guy friends up there and see if they need work......I have one friend who sounded like he might be interested, he just needed to know if you work with insulation (sp) as he's allergic to it.

I hope you get something worked out.

I love you!! Would you get online already! I'm bored when you're not around!
