The Trouble With George

I can't stand it.

Every time I think this Administration has sunk too a new low it only gets worse.

The FCC has now revised the rules of ownership of media corporations to own multiple media outlets in a single market. This means the corporate behemoths that control the media message can now own TV stations and newspapers in the same markets. What does this mean too you ? More centralized control of the information we get by fewer and fewer corporations. Why is this a bad thing ? Those corporations own companies that profit from the actions of George Bush. They make money off of war. It's sick. It might as well be government controlled media.

Congress yesterday requested that the Justice Department come before Congress and explain what they are doing to control contractors in Iraq. They refused to appear before congress.

The Department Of Justice, charged with upholding the law, refusing to appear before Congress.

Let that sink in.

They refused to anwser to the people of this country and their elected representation.

Fucking Amazing.

They might as well have just said "Fuck you, we don't give a shit what you think"

Sibel Edmonds, a former FBI translator who in the course of her work heard information that would implicate the Administration and FBI and CIA in criminal wrong doings has been suppressed from telling what she knows about the illegal actions of our government and they're actions with foreign governments, has been suppressed by the Administration under the "State Secrets Act". More executive privilege. She was fired for bringing up the information with her superiors. After that she tried to win the freedom to speak from the courts. Didn't work. The courts in Wa. D.C. are stacked with Bush cronies. She even tried to talk to Congress. All efforts squashed by the Administration. She's even offered to defy the Administration and talk to any main stream media outlet that would produce the interview un-censored. Multiple times. Not one of them took her up on the offer.

Ever heard of Sibel on ABC, NBC CNN or CBS ? - Yeah - I know you haven't because they won't show it. Only one of many stories we've never been told. You gotta dig for it.

If you do know I hope you're SCREAMING! Write a letter to your Rep. This is the country your leaving to our kids.

The CIA destroys evidence of torture and the White house is clearly complicit and they stonewall. Torture is illegal and goes against everything this country used to stand for. (Geneva Conventions- Folks, We agreed to them in 1949.) The people that authorized it are war criminals and should be tried in the Hague. Let's start w/ George because it had to be OK'd from the highest level as no thinking technocrat would ever put themselves in that kinda exposure with our having butt-coverage of some sort.

Every time I think, OK maybe this is the time that the MAJORITY PARTY DEMOCRATS start to find some stomach for the fight.

It never comes.

I had such high hopes when we won back Congress. What a fool I was.

Somehow we must find a way (Third Party?) to get the present administration of this country to comply with our constitution. We also need to show them that this kinda of abuse will not be tolerated.

How dangerous is it to have the precedences this Administration has made of executive powers stand un-challenged and become normalized in the executive office ? Republican or Democrat - it's freaking scary that the executive office can put aside the constitution and twist it to their own will WITH NO CHALLENGE - They must operate within the law.

Wake up America ! - This is the country we're leaving to our children.

I know you might think it does no good to write letters or emails to your elected federal officials. But I do it every week and I do get responses.

Sometimes.

Sometimes the responses infuriate me by their cluelessness, but they've got to hear my singular voice. A letter at least gets a tic mark on some legislators issue tally card.

I'm sorry folks - sometimes I just gotta get this shit off my chest.
