From the archives.

This is our view to the west taken from the front yard. (One of the only pics that got saved from the Windows to Vista upgrade)

This must be about April, from the placement of the sun - maybe two years ago.

If you face due west on the Puget Sound the sun makes a progression from south to north. It's in the south at dead of winter and north at the height of summer. Then it slowly moves back to the south again. The Salish tribe used this as a calendar.

The left is south, right the north. It's kinda one of those things that I watch and it makes me feel all is right in the world.

Happy Holiday !

That is one of the first things I noticed when we moved here, the difference in the path of the sun in summer and winter. I don't know why I never noticed it before, but perhaps it's because I never appreciated the sun so much till I lived somewhere were it's scarce for a big part of the year. Beautiful photo. :)

What kind of puppy do you have - is it a golden?

Happy Thanksgiving, hope you were kidding about the food being burned!

Jay only burned breakfast - Beauregard Jefferson Bear is indeed a golden - light of my life - His sister Miss Lilly is a Tux cat and loves him dearly. They're both very tender with the chickens and regard them as they're own. eggs are free and we can't give enough away - I'm at city hall about once a week if you want some - I can drop them off if you have a receptionist desk or something. They're way better than what you can get at the store.

It's kinda strange but having lived here most of my life I always have a sense where the sound and mountains are. It's paid off many times not getting TOO lost.

Hope you and Boy are having a great day and Boy is feeling better.

Looks terrific. Where, exactly, are you (said the ignorant Brit).

The sun on Orkney does a seven or eight hour tour of the horizon and then gives up for the night at about 4pm. By this time next month we have only six hours daylight. The summers, on the other hand. . .
